Sehwag blames poor fielding for defeat

Jaipur: Delhi captain Virender Sehwag blamed poor fielding and Watson's strokeful innings for his team's defeat.

"We did not play well. At a certain stage they were needing 10-12 run per over but we missed a few catches and Watson's innings turned around the game. The second defeat in the last over is pinching. And we have to improve the overall game," Sehwag said.

Sehwag also praised rival bowlers for using the wicket well.

"The wicket was slow and low. Ball was not coming on to the bat and they also bowled smartly. They did not give me the pace I love. So I was not able to strike the ball as I wanted to."

Clearing the air on on-field umpires not referring Watson run-out decision to the third umpire immediately, Sehwag said the officials actually did not have access to replays due to some technical problem.

"They were actually told not to refer decisions to the third umpire after eighth over because of a technical snag. So they were not informed if the technical snag was sorted out or not," he said.

However, Fraser Castellino, CEO of Emerging Media did not like the Delhi team's pushing of umpires to refer the decision to the third umpire.

"More and more people are challenging the umpires decisions and we are going to write to IPL officially to take steps to prevent such happenings.

"We want the game to be played in right spirit. Some decision have gone against us also and we have accepted those," Fraser said.
