Nitish Mondal The team selection is, beyond doubt, not upto the mark. Despite Sehwag, Yuvraj and Raina not able to deliver the goods, were selected. The selection of RP Singh and Agarkar were imprudent. Sehwag should be replaced by Gautam Gambhir. All rounder Dinesh Mongia for Raina. Sreesant for RP Singh. Ramesh Power for Agarkar. Maybe Kaif for Yuvraj.

However, Dravid will have to make use of his resources prudently and potentially. Fielding must be improved, catches should not be dropped. What I feel, the quality of the batting skill of Dravid has been deteriorated to a great extent as a captain.

I am of the opinion that an Indian coach will prove far better than the coach from outside India.

Last but not the least, though the world cup is soon approaching, yet so-called Guru Greg is unable to present a team for the world cup. I am at a loss to understand what would be the fate of our country! ( Posted: Friday , October 27, 2006 at 16:32 )
krishna I think it is high time for dravid to take some useful decision by using is own brain and not just banking on chappell''s brain which i dont think he has. I dont find any logic in dropping laxman and playing raina who doesnt has century in 30 innings he has played. And playing R.P. Singh who i find only to be a club bowler. Moreover chappel playing 5 bowlers is height of stupidity. Because in matches i have seen atleast 2 specialist bowlers dont complete their full quota of Overs. And Playing raina again again will only demoralise him and in course of time he will fade away like parthiv patel. Please stop playing pathan at no.3 our Coach should understand that pathan is a bowler and not a batsman. ( Posted: Friday , October 27, 2006 at 14:49 )
Srinivas There is no need to worry for what has happened, there is hardly any surprise.

Don''t blame Chappel either, his job is to think, strategise, train etc. not to play.

So the majority of the blame goes to Dravid as captain. He should know how to utilise his resources including the coach''s abilities.

Dravid is miserable in thinking any strategies other than sending Pathan at 3, whic is foolish.

This has already spoiled his bowling abilities.

Dravid is a total misplace as captain, we cannot progress under him.

VVS, Kaif are among the best available other than Ganguly (not in team). ( Posted: Friday , October 27, 2006 at 14:45 )
Raj I don''t understand why people are calling this a close game. From the time India were 22/1 it never seemed that we could win. Yes morton did give us some hope but it never seemed that we are commanding. even in the last over with 5 runs to get from 5 balls with 3 wickets in hand and agarkar the bowler I don''t think any sane cricket person would have given INdia a chance.

Yes we love our team we want them to win but same goes for the opponent too. I guess west Indies played better cricket both strategically and on the execution side. We had a wrong team, at the wrong place.

Somebody got to tell Dravid that his sagging shoulders gives a very wrong message. He needs to be told that he is the boss on the ground and has the right to pull up people who do not perform on the ground. With his hand on his head he looked pathetic. I am not expecting him to be aggresive but atleast look confident.

All the best for 29/10 ( Posted: Friday , October 27, 2006 at 14:39 )
Gururaj I find fault with players like Sehwag, Yuvraj and Raina who are not being consistent. Sehwag should know his weakness and try to counter it by playing more on front foot. I even suggest that he should take guard one yard outside the crease and face the bowlers from there. That will nullify any lbw prospects. He can hit most of the bowlers on the half volley or step back and square cut.

Sachin was playing well but most of his shots were directed towards the fielders, he could have tried straight drive or the aerial route during power play (again playing outside the crease).

Irfan should be allowed to bat lower down the line rather than him being a regular at no.3. The surprise element is lost and I guess most of the quality opponents would have worked out how to bowl him out.

The team should ensure it scores 200 before 40th over while not losing more than 5 wickets.

Powar and Harbhajan should be in the squad unless its a pitch tailored for pace bowlers. Even there Sreeshanth or Zaheer should be preferred than RP Singh / VRV Singh. ( Posted: Friday , October 27, 2006 at 14:06 )
Tanmoy I totally agree with Vimal - what was the logiv behind playing 4 fast bowlers????? the wicket is turning, slow...and you drop R Powar(who bowled really well in the last match)... to get in RP Singh???? I would still say WELL PLAYED INDIA...but BAD STRATEGY...sorry CHAPPELL and DRAVID... Thumbs down to your thinking...Now get your thinking hats on and think on how to beat Australia ... Don''t talk about Ganguly...let him first get some runs in domestic cricket and then the selectors will look at him... ( Posted: Friday , October 27, 2006 at 13:06 )

OOH AAH INDIA, CHALAGAYA INDIA. ( Posted: Friday , October 27, 2006 at 12:49 )
more raju sack chappel, any indian coach is better than him, sack dravid as captain, bring back kumble as captain and also sack shewag, raina, r.p.singh, agarkar, kaif and bring back Laxman, sreeshant ( Posted: Friday , October 27, 2006 at 12:11 )
