Dr Nandakumar Moorkath There might be isolated players like Arjuna and Anil Kumble and some others who would argue vigorously for Test Cricket. But Arjuna needs to know that in this fast moving world it is criminal and anti-national for poor and developing countries to waste so many thousands of working hours every year to watch a sport that is for the majority part sleep-inducing and sheer bore! There might be some other players too who might support Arjuna, but the bigger picture of national interest of developing countries and the entertainment value for the public, not the players alone, must be taken into account as well. What I suggest is a revised Test format being played over 2 days or week-ends with the 2 sides playing 2 innings and played with a limited 25-30 over format with alternating innings as in 5 Day Tests. The bowling and fielding restrictions can be same as ODIs or T20s and the side scoring the highest aggregate at the end of the match can be declared the winner.Hope BCCI takes the initiative for proposing this revised Test format.
