Dr Nandakumar Moorkath This is a great beginning to make the game inident free and transparent and as someone who has been advocating such a reform for many months in this webiste forum, I feel pleased to note that the game will be more transparent and that the spirit of the game and the career of players are not jeopardised by stupid decisions of on-field umpires.I suggest too that all LBW appeals be adjudicated using the Hawk Eye Technology and using the services of the Third Umpire and TV cameras so that the human mistake element and bias in refereeing, if any is cancelled out and the errors will be equally distributed for both the teams.
It will be great for developing countries and in interest of the game that 5 Day Tests are reformed to make 2 Day Tests, with a 2 innings format as earlier and with eash side playing 30 overs an innings alternatingly as in Tests. The winner can be decided on the run aggregate of both innings, other rules of ODIs and T20 matches can be adapted to the new Test format as well. RAJA THE CHALLENGE RULE IN CRICKET WILL MAKE A GREAT CHANGE IN CRICKET AS ONLY ONE WRONG DECISION OF UMPIRE SOMETIMES CHANGES THE WHOLE COMPLEXION OF THE SERIES BUT THERE IS ONE FLAW IN THIS NEW RULE THAT EVERY PLAYER WILL GO FOR CHALLENGE WITHOUT ANY FEAR ,SO PENALTY RUNS SHOULD BE GIVEN IN CASE OF WRONG CHALLENGE THEN PLAYER WILL ONLY CHALLENGE IF THEY WILL BE 100% SURE ( Posted: Sunday , July 20, 2008 at 16:09 )
