Ravi Padmanabhan Though he hasn''t succeeded in test cricket, Ashok Mankad is one of the best cricketing brain in India. Had he given the opportunity, he would have made it to India''s best coach. BCCI failed miserably to recognize his talents. First I had watched him playing for Maftlal, in the Buchi Baby invitation tournament. In a trying situation,( 48/6), he alone with tail ender taken the score to 250 plus. The next day, in HINDU his innings was described, as MANKAD BATTED WITH BROAD SHOULDER AND BRODER PADS.That was the innings was temperament, patience and cunningness.
His demise will be a great lost to Mumbai, not for India because, BCCI never used him.
Let us salute one of the good cricketing brain.
