New Delhi: Praveen Kumar, who turned the CB series final on its head scalping four wickets including that of Ricky Ponting and Adam Gilchrist, would be given a cash award of Rs five lakh by the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association.

The association has also decided to award Rs one lakh each to Piyush Chawla, Suresh Raina and Tanmay Srivastava for being part of winning squads.

Chawla held his nerve in the nail-biting moments of the CB series finals, taking the catches of Nathan Bracken and James Hopes.

Raina, too, played his part fielding brilliantly in the outfield.

Srivastava had an impressive run in the Under-19 World Cup, top scoring in the finals even as wickets were tumbling at the other end.
