New Delhi: There seems to be no end to the injury woes of Pakistan team.

With the bowling attack already in shambles following doubts over the fitness of pacers Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Sami, Pakistan were dealt another blow when Umar Gul broke down while training in Kolkata on Thursday and will be sent home ahead of the second Test against India beginning at the Eden Gardens on Friday.

Gul aggravated a back injury while bowling at the nets at the Eden Gardens on Thursday.

All-rounder Yasir Arafat has been named as Gul's replacement. Arafat has not made his Test debut and is likely to reach Kolkata late on Thursday night.

Gul also missed the first Test at Delhi because of a back injury.

Even skipper Shoaib Malik is suffering from an ankle injury and may not be available for the second match of the three-Test series.

Malik said that he hadn't recovered from his ankle injury yet, and several of his team members still unfit to take the field.

"I did a bit of running and walked around, but I'm still feeling pain," Malik said as he limped into the press conference.

"We have spoken to the selectors, and have given them our options. I hope some replacements should arrive in India by evening today," Malik added.

Pakistan lost the first Test match by six wickets. They also lost the five-match One-Day series 2-3.
