New Delhi: Cricket teams viewing the opponents' past video footage to plot their downfall could soon become a thing of the past.
If Chennai's Frontier Technologies has its way, then their proposal of showing video footage of a batsman including his strengths and weaknesses during a match, so that the fielding team can sort him out there and then. And it could happen as early as the India-Sri Lanka One-day series which begins next month.
"We have approached the cricket boards of India and Sri Lanka with our proposal and a decision is awaited. We want to do this in the ensuing India-Sri Lanka One-day series in Sri Lanka," MS Muralidharan, MD, Fortune Technologies, said on Tuesday.
The company already has the digital management rights for the Tests and One-day series between the two countries. The first Test of the three-match series begins on Wednesday in Colombo.
"A six-member research team is working on this project," Muralidharan added.
