This is a usual expectetation from foreign coach looking at history. They devide and rule. Behind this, only politics and there self reputation is there. Think how, if Dhini will come to TEST side as a captain it ovious that one by one all the senior player will be out. Then the newcomer sorry the young stars will come. If they perform well or not in test this is a win/win situation for Kristen. But if the senior player fails with senior players he will also be answerable to WHY? BCCI should warn the Kristen who ever from outsider not to play politics within or if wants to Kumble out from sqad, announce directly not through Kristen or any other person cause he is greatest INDIAN bolwer tiil now.

Let us understand that Kirsten is no puppy and being a coach, he can always highlight his point of view to the selectors during selection meetings. Or do he have an agenda? like Greg... It has become a fashion for all sundries to hail Dhoni as the best think ever happen to Indian Cricket and at the same breath rubbish our champions. Media adds to the glitz. yaa it is good suggestion for bcci to handover job to dhoni as test captain. no doubt kumbly be the best bowler and good captain. but kumbly unable to handle captaincy and bowling in a good way. and also we have to narture dhoni as a test captain, with dhoni as a test captain indian test may get newer and younger players into the team. what kirsten said was a right thing. but our bcci may decide for goodness of indian cricket team. hope bcci thinks positively towards indian cricket team

I cant understand the BCCI going around censuring everyone in sight. Some of the victims have deserved their just desserts, but clearly this habit of the BCCI to send the paragon of rectitude, Niranjan Shah, to the media to chastise the player/official in question is ineffective at best and laughable at worst. Chappell, More, Vengsarkar and now Kirsten. The list of players is a lot longer with almost every player being caught in the crosshairs of BCCI''s loose cannon. The only thing going for the BCCI is their ability to monetise the Indian public''s lack of entertainment options other than cricket. THe sense of self-importance of these BCCI officials is reprehensible.

I think the biggest mistake the Indian cricketer or coaches make is give their opinion to the media (new-channels and news-papers). What ever they say has been provided with all kinds of masala touch garnishing and delivered to public. Especially TV news-channels are the biggest culprits in making the players inconsistent with their performance. One day they make them GOD and one day they pull to the ditch. Kirsten case is a clear example of how a genuine viewpoint could be made as a big issue. To be frank if BCCI is not providing such a Big money for coaches, none of them would dare to apply for coaching Job for India. My humble request is media should stop asking non-sense questions to the players and also provide the exact details or views that the player or official expresses, not a cooked one.

BCCI is being childish in over-reacting to a harmless comment by Mr. Gary Kirsten. The selectors do not have to be influenced by such comments. In any case, Mr. Kirsten''s remarks are hardly controversial. He is echoing the thoughts of the whole nation. Grow up, BCCI !

Hi OO7, sorry A005, I am sure you have plenty of spare time on hand during weekend, as during weekdays.I suggest you turn into a Poirot and investigate to quench your triple quest i.e. ??? Instead, have a nice Grand Slam, i.e. if there is no rain-lash in NY.

I fully agree with your comments Mr. Rao and I must admit you''re a man of sensible views. Even I don''t understand the hue and cry over Kirsten''s comments which I felt were very considerate towards both Dhoni and Kumble. I don''t understand what the big deal is! He is the player''s coach and he has the every right to express his views publicly (:

It is as if we have captains all over India. Gary, the coach who was approached , only predicted what is going to happen ultimately . By repeated staggered form Yuvaraj and Sehwag put themselves out of contention. They were the likely candidates. Dhoni got this job by default. But he is doing a good job with it. The sooner they take this step the better for Indian cricket.

I think the Aussies are taking it too far. Here is a guy who gives everything on the field who wants to take a break before a match against Bangladesh. Come on, Bangladesh was not even in the range and even if Australia had played with 6 players on the field, they would have won comfortably. Essentially I think the Aussies themselves are jealous that this makes $1.5 mi at the IPL.
