Dhaka: Former captain Khaled Mahmud has been named Bangladesh's manager for next month's Champions Trophy One-Day tournament in India, the cricket board has announced.

Mahmud, 35, quit international cricket in February this year after playing 12 Tests and 77 One-Dayers as a seam bowler and lower-order batsman.

Bangladesh will play Sri Lanka, the West Indies and Zimbabwe in the Champions Trophy qualifying rounds, starting from October 7.

The top two teams will advance to the main draw.
