Indian women's team named for England tour

New Delhi: The BCCI on Wednesday announced the Indian squad for the women's team for its tour of England which starts from August 26.

The Indian team, which will be led by Mithali Raj, is scheduled to play a five-ODI series and a one-off Twenty match.

The All India Women's Selection Committee, with Anju Jain, Poornima Rau, Mithu Mukherjee, Vrinda Bhagat and Sandhya Agarwal on the panel, met at the National Cricket Academy premises in Bangalore on Wednesday to decide the 15-member squad.

The squad: Mithali Raj (captain), Jhulan Goswami, Jaya Sharma, Karuna Jain, Sulakshana Naik, Hemlata Kala, Rumeli Dhar, Asha Rawat, Priyanka Roy, Devika Palshikar, Neetu David, Seema Pujare, Gauhar Sultan, Amita Sharma, Snehal Pradhan.

Coach: Shanta Rangaswamy

Manager: Sandhya Agarwal.

August 30 – 1st ODI at Bath

September 1 – 2nd ODI at Somerset

September 4 – 3rd ODI at Somerset

September 5 – One-off T20 at Somerset

September 7 – 4th ODI at Arundel

September 9 – 5th ODI at Sussex
