Caribbean fast bowler Courtney Walsh, the giant killer with a six-foot-six-inch frame, was regarded as any batsman's nightmare. In India recently, he caught up with CNN-IBN's Himanshu Singhal for a chat on the rejuvenated looking West Indies cricket team, Indian food, and Indian women.

Himanshu Singhal: He is known as one of the tallest and most aggressive fast bowlers ever produced in world cricket. But despite all that, he is also known as a gentle giant. Courtney Walsh, one of the best bowlers ever produced by the West Indies cricket is here with us. Welcome Courtney to CNN-IBN. How has life been so far after cricket?

Courtney Walsh: It's been very good, very good so far, thank you. After this time, I have had the chance to to spend some time at home with my family which I still do. And it has also given me the chance to see and do things that I didn't get a chance to do, while I played. So, it's been very good.

Himanshu Singhal: What keeps you busy these days? It seems tourism also keeps you busy.

Courtney Walsh: I am touring the most, especially on this trip where I'm promoting Jamaica, so I'm here with the Jamaica Tourist Board. Because we have the World Cup launching in Jamaica next year with a big opening ceremony. So, I'm here with the tourist board as an ambassador which I'm proud to do. I'm just letting people know a bit about Jamaica, trying to satisfy their concerns. It's all the hype of this World Cup because Jamaica is going to be the place to be. So, it's got me very busy but it's something that I have to do.

Himanshu Singhal: Courtney, the West Indies team has recently seen a sort of a revival - they beat the Indians, they made it to the finals of the Champions Trophy. So what would you attribute this revival of the fortunes of the West Indian cricket team to?

Courtney Walsh: I think the guys are a little bit more experienced. They are a little bit more committed to what's going on. I think also, the whole picture of the World Cup around the corner. So, I think it's the right combination of everything. And I'm also sure that with Clive Lloyd being around the team for the last couple of months would have had a positive effect on the guys as well. It's a good learning process and a good learning curve for them, so it's looking good for West Indies cricket. I don't want to speak too soon about what's happening, but they are headed in the right direction.

Himanshu Singhal: Are you satisfied with the pace bowlers?

Courtney Walsh: I'm satisfied with the pace bowlers. I think a lot of people are expecting a lot more from them, that will come in time. I think the experience of Gayle will be of much use for them later on in their career. But my main concern is to try and keep them fit and play because the more you play, the more you learn.
