New Delhi: The Indian Premier League has thrown up quite a few domestic talents to the fore and one such cricketer is Manpreet Singh Gony - a man who chases his dreams both on the off the field, quite literally.

Fifteen runs needed from the final over. At stake a crucial win after a hat-trick of losses for the Chennai Super Kings. And it was this massive heave from Manpreet Gony that helped his team pull off a dramatic last-ball win over Delhi Daredevils and the man relished every moment of it.

"The moment Sehwag introduced the spinner into the attack, I knew that I could win the match for my team," the big fast bowler beamed.

For the 24-year-old from Punjab life has been nothing short of a Bollywood flick. It was love at first sight for Gony and he wooed his wife, also called Manpreet in true filmi style.

"I told her at the first meeting that she has got beautiful eyes," he says as his eyes widen.

But this union didn't go down well with the family and they severed all ties with their son.

"They are not in touch with me. They don't even call me," Gony laments.

This six-foot four inches tall hunk has had offers pouring in from the tinsel town as well as some modelling assignments but Gony has his priorities straight.

"I do get offers but I don't take them because I want to concentrate on cricket only," he reasons.

It's been a roller coaster ride for Gony so far and its the opportunities in the IPL that he'll have to grab with both hands to have any hopes of realising his dream to play in India colours.
