Dope tests conducted on Pak CT squad | Drug offenders

Karachi: Twenty six out of the 30 probables selected in the Pakistan's preliminary squad for the Champions Trophy, including captain Shoaib Malik and controversial pacer Shoaib Akhtar, underwent dope tests conducted by World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) representatives in Lahore on Sunday.

The dope samples would be sent to an International Olympic Committee-accredited laboratory in Malaysia and the results are expected in ten days, a top Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official said.

"The samples were taken by WADA accredited people and we expect the results in about 10-days time, not before that," Dr Sohail Saleem, a member of PCB's medical commission, said.

"Except for four players, Younis Khan, Bazid Khan, Yasir Arafat and Azhar Ali, all the players have given the tests. Younis is on Umra while the rest of the guys are playing in England," he said.
