New Delhi: India's one-day captain Mahender Singh Dhoni will not be present in the capital on Friday to collect his Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award. Though victory in the fourth one-dayer has ensured India the series win against Sri Lanka, there is still one match to be played and Dhoni will not skip it to attend the ceremony.

Dhoni has conveyed to the BCCI that he will definitely lead the side for the fifth one-dayer as well, which means his father Pan Singh Dhoni will collect the award on his behalf.

The Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna is the country's highest honour given for sporting achievement.

Dhoni is only the second cricketer to receive the award after Sachin Tendulkar in 1997-98.
