Dhoni lavishes praise on pacers

Dambulla: India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Wednesday heaped praise on his fast bowlers for their fine show in the second one-dayer against Sri Lanka but warned that they would have to toil harder in the remaining three games.

India won the the second-dayer by three wickets to level the five-match ODI series 1-1 with seamers Zaheer Khan and Praveen Kumar running through the Lankan batting to bundle them out for a paltry 142 by sharing seven wickets between themselves.

"Most of the times we have played in Sri Lanka it is not a bowlers' paradise especially for the fast bowlers. Full credit to the fast bowlers for coming out with flying colours in tough conditions. They bowled in right areas," Dhoni said at the post-match press conference.

"In the last two games seamers got help, but they may not get these conditions in the coming three games," he added.

Dhoni admitted the team was a bit worried when India were 75 for 5 in the 20th over during their run chase as the track was turning and ball reversing a bit.

"It was turning a bit also. So it was a bit tough when in one end we had a batsman but in other end it was open with the tailenders. Of course it was a concerned area till the match got over," he said.

On his yet another rescue act to win the match with a valuable 39 runs, Dhoni said he loved pressure situations and taking up the responsibility to lead from the front.
