London: Former England bowler Dominic Cork has been fined and banned for one One-Day match next season after being found guilty of abusing a doping control official.

The incident took place in the aftermath of Lancashire's defeat by Sussex in the final of the Cheltenham and Gloucester Trophy last month and Cork has apologised to the official concerned, the England and Wales Cricket Board said on Friday.

A disciplinary panel ruled that Cork will be suspended for the first 50-over competitive One-Day match of 2007, fined £1,500 and be obliged to pay £1,000 towards the costs of the hearing.

The pacer said that his remarks were made when he was in a highly emotional state following Lancashire's defeat and apologised for his actions.
