Doni , good decision . Dont play at all. Please retire. You are a total headace to the Indian team. You played well under Dravid. (183vsSL &vs Pakitan.)You are really boring these days . Cant captain a team . You sack Dravid and Ganguly saying you want a younger team .Then you lose finals. Then talks about reaching the finals. Then you are cunning enugh to take a"rest". I hope bad luck to Goni and his "young" Indian team.

I think we all remember Sachin, as soon as Indian team finished off with the Australian tour, there was a fitness report which was widely published here, to the bcci by the team physio/fitness trainer which had lot of fitness concerns about lot of Indian players after a grueling three month australian tour, which is very natural, but in that fitness report one of the players was mentioned to be in need of long rest because groin problem, no guessings, it was sachin tendulkar, and the first thing that sachin did after landing was to participate in a press meet for mumbai indians and in that press meet he said that he has no problems and is fully fit, now after three months we all know what has happened , if sachin had taken the advice of the specialist who advised him some rest, India would have probably won in Dhaka and in Karachi in the finals and he could have become the highest run getter in test cricket by now, this is not the only case, sreesanth was advised operation he took ayurvedic treatment, now he is only playing every other tournament, yuvraj was advised operation on his knees before the world cup in 2007,he is still to get his operation done, munaf patel was advised strength training, now he obviously can only bowl four overs he is not even a shadow of himself, zaheer has a long history of fitness problems and lot more ,only advices from bcci no enforcement, yet there are other guys who are doing very well. pointing was diagnosed with wrist injury he immediately went off from the caribbean tour and within a week he has got his operation done. i think there is a general problem here, the bcci are not strong enough against top players. in this scenario just about a week ago there was an article written buy kirsten in which he has mentioned that dhoni needs rest and dhoni’s decision is correct and also i think his decision is also a silent protest against the bcci which replied to dhoni’s call of tight scheduling by saying players can request and take rest if they wanted.

Jha I think u r jealous of Modi and BCCI, may be u did not get ur cut. Dhoni availing a break has nothing to do with IPL. He played for last 1.5 years without a break and as he is the wicket keeper his effort doubles or triples than others. He is such a confident player so he is not afraid of losing his place in the team. When he is ready he will come back as captain and perform with more vigour. So stop whinning.... what ever ! U own this web site, so u can write what ever crap u feel like. I pity u...

Very good decision by Dhoni! Either give 100% or don''t play at all. There are players who just want to play (& give only 50% effort). BCCI should need to rethink when scheduling matches. Don''t say rotation policy! Will you then have more than 1 captain for ODI, T20, test teams.....???? Sound stupid.

Smart chap dhoni is !! he knows ROI- 3tests ie 15 days under equatorial sun will not be a patch what he got in IPL.May be he will not be fatigued to launch his sports mgmt company, adshoots etc to keep the moolah exploding. What poor anil, rahul, VVS et all didnot bother today the hotel/restraunts cricket owners are following footstep of kapil, sunny, sachin, saurav, zaheer robin-sree !

Basically there is no motivation for him to play Test Matches the runumeration for Test is just 3 Lakhs and you have to sweat for almost 3 days in the field.I think if your future is certain Playing in IPL except for some bloody Australian no cricketer is interested in playing for the country.Dhoni is least bothered if Karthik or Parthiv is permanently selected for Test he still has 1.6 Million dollar and a legacy of leading 20-20 world cup.

I think u should pay for Dhoni as he has given u a chance again to bash at IPL. We all enjoyed IPL which is what sports is all about - entertaining people. Dhoni really needs a break. I just got tired on reading the list of his tour schedule. He is not so important in test matches and also who is going to watch test matches. We want to know only the result at the end of the day.. Hats off to dhoni for his honesty to come out and tell that he is tired. No one else will do it...

There was so much criticism when sachin wanted to drop out playing bangladesh which was not an important series, now we are playing for our country''s pride with Sri Lanka who are almost fighting to be the best in Asia.. Our Mr. Dhoni wants to take rest with young legs and mind... I have never heard of a sachin or a ganguly or dravid or some other senior take a break after playing for nearly 2 decades... Give him a break... He deserves.. hopefully somebody steals his place by performing and that would probably teach him a lesson in life.. Age does not matter.. Endurance for a long run does, which I am afraid he does not have.

Mr.Jha make it 2 of us laughing in despair on the state of cricket affairs in India. It''s time that Mr.Modi get''s booted out of BCCI and he be made responsible for IPL. After that all ther other boards will as they choose send their players to play in the IPL. Just like we had teams going to sharjah to play. Do it this way, with teams/boards having control over who to play and who not to, rather than Mr.Modi forcing people to play. I can''t believe that he said "Hayden and Hussery will have to play in CSK" rather than playing for Auzzie team. Who is this Lalit Modi any way.. my boos for him

Mr Cricket
It''s good to see at last someone from Indian team brave and honest enough to take bold decision. Dhoni should be commended for this. If he feels that he cannot give 100 percent then he should not play and I think that''s what he did unlike some of the other Indian players who play without being match fit. It''s easy to say play for country over IPL. These guys are professionals and playing a cricket game for country is not same as going to war to defend your country. Why don''t we ask everyone to work for govt jobs and not for private or MNCs?
