This article is really well written and well thought of, an interesting food for thought for all cricket lovers across the world. Mr. Jha has very nicely articulated his thoughts in the form of a process/set of rules for defining the proposed Championship details. A lot of constructive thinking and creativity has been put forward towards writing such an article/proposal. Hats off to your Mr. Jha, keep up the good work. I hope your proposal is accepted by the ICC and something initiative is taken soon to preserve and promote test cricket.

sanjay jha has done the right thing in starting this discussion ....and all ideas should be welcome. A good quality test match is anytime superior to one day or T20 cricket. Cricketers who are so used to hitting through the line and playing cross batted shots in the restricted fielding conditions of the shorter version of the game find it so difficult to negotiate either swing or spin in test cricket. The real thing is test cricket ..... AND TRUE MEN ALWAYS PREFER THE REAL THING !!!!

Sajay, What a whole lot of humbug. If the ICC predecided which test match in the series would be accorded with the WTC, then u will have home teams preparing pitches that fully suit their own style. (For example like India prepared the Mumbai pitch when the aussies were touring last time)All this will ensure is a one sided contest. Australia is the only team that has won consistently in all countries, they are the WTC champions and nobody can dispute that. Being a die hard Indian fan, and knowing my cricket well, as much as i hate it, the facts remains the fact, the Aussies are the best and that too consistently.

Do you think ICC is keen on implementing the good cricket, what you forget is that Sharad Pawar will take over as ICC chief soon, what next?I think BCCI bosses need to read this, its BCCI which rules world cricket or atleast till the next World Cup.

"Where a match is not won or lost on that celebrated "given day" by the toss, batting in the night, one bad over , a few lofty sixes or a lousy umpiring decision." Mr Jha, where were you when the Sydney test was being decided by M/s Bucknor and Benson? Or is the operative word there "a" lousy decision, as opposed to the several that the two them got wrong?

Lets consider India, Pakistan , Sri Lanka and Australia to be in one group .. Lets consider the 4 years between 2010 and 2014.. WHat if India is not slotted for a test series in Australia during this time since it played a test series only in 2009-10{ just an example} . So does this mean India will have to fly down under Just to play a one off test match?????????????? And to play this one off match will Team India be given a 3 day practice match to get used to the condition..?????????/ IF this is the case then ICC will have to pick the groups in accordance to the tour plans each nation has which will lead to more Chaos... Kindly reply to this.. Otherwise the format is really good..
